Luxury lounge now open at Glasgow Airport
Glasgow Airport's new luxury airport lounge is now open to customers.
The first passengers were welcomed into the £1.6 million Lomond Lounge last Friday. Glasgow's fourth airport lounge, the Lomond Lounge is open daily between 5am and 9pm, offering upscale facilities to customers.
Creating 25 new jobs, Lomond Lounge is situated airside in the departures zone. Now, Glasgow Airport boasts more lounges than any other Scottish airport as the Lomond Lounge joins Glasgow's UpperDeck lounge, as well as Emirates and British Airways' own lounges within the airport.
Glasgow Airport Managing Director Mark Johnston said: “My team has worked incredibly hard to deliver this project and we are all immensely proud of the Lomond Lounge. I’ve got to say that although the initial design concept images looked impressive, they don’t do it justice when you see the completed lounge.
“Given its prime location in the airport’s departures area, the lounge offers fantastic views of both the airfield and the stunning backdrop of the Campsie Fells, while raising the benchmark by providing a premium level of service and comfort. It’s a beautiful space and I’m sure our customers are going to be very impressed with everything this luxurious new facility will offer.”
Inspired by Loch Lomond, the Trossachs National Park and the architecture of the airport itself, Lomond Lounge spans 4,500 sq ft and offers a range of dining options to passengers.
Guests can opt for a la carte dining with table service, or enjoy snacks and drinks in a more relaxed seating area.
Lomond Lounge seats 100 people, with a choice of breakfast, lunch and dinner options, all created using Scottish produce and cooked by expert local chefs.
Other features of the lounge include free superfast WiFi, a business zone, charging points, free newspapers and magazines.
Complimentary drinks available at the Lomond Lounge include premium beers, award-winning spirits, specialist cocktails, prosecco and champagne.
Entry to Lomond Lounge can be booked online on the official Glasgow Airport website.
